max to spend 3k
after a new car and just cant decide which one to get , had a mr2 before and loved it but always had a thing for a gti-6.

MR2

good points
faster
better styled

bad points
expensive parts
super unleaded fuel
insurance is £200 more
older car
2 seats

306 GTI-6

good points

cheaper to maintain
sleeper
5 seats
handling

bad points

everyone just thinks it a 306

anymore input off people who have owned either cars ?
i know i have put more good points to 306 gti but still 50-50

my first pug was a shitter, everything was wrong with it, brought another one though with better history, lower milage and everything is good!!

If i was you i'd always go for the lowest mileage / newest / most history you can rather than whats had the most done to it like some of my mates!!!!!

I hate the look of the MR2, looks very dated, as does a 306 to an extent, but not as bad imo

MY 306 gti has been the most reliable car i have owned. Only lambda has gone on it.

I looked at MR2 but are a bit old school and lethal in bad weather.

£06 is a superb handling car, may not be the fastest now but fun and practical none the less. if you want to tune it then TB's and remap see 220bhp easy

Anyone that says french cars are shit is a dickhead. I have had 3 vauxhalls and the 2 pug have been better built, not rusted after 2days and been much better handling.

a mid engined rear wheel drive turbo car is gonna be more 'fun' than a 306!!! Plus who gives a fuck if people don't know what the 306 is??? if you want a sleeper then your looking at the wrong cars!!!! mr2 is just better car imo. plus it's jap so not much is gonna go wrong!!!

i doubt it, MR2 will just let go unless you rused to rear end happy mid 0's cars. 306 is super grippy and will take more abuse than the MR2.
