got a satndard cd player cdr 500 and i was wondering how you enter the code because when i do it nothing happens?
do tou have to press something before? or hold any buttons?

There is a special way of doing it - if you have your owners manual for the cd player, which was separate, it says in there.

turn ignition on all the way till lights on dash come on
turn radio off
press and hold AS button and turn radio on with AS button still pressed
After a few seconds the radio will beep and it will display 10 - - - -
now use buttons 1 - 4 to enter the code, pressing each button enough times for the number you need to be displayed , so 1234 - button one twice (0 1), button 2 3 times (0 1 2) and so on
Then with the code entered and on the display, press and hold the AS button and it should unlock.
failed attempts and the times you have to wait in between
Attempt 1. 10 seconds
Attemp 2. 30 seconds.
Attempt 3. 10 minutes.
Attempt 4. 20 minutes
Attempt 5. 40 minutes
Attempt 6. 80 minutes
Attempt 7 160 minutes
Attempt 8 320 minutes
Attempt 9. 640 minutes (yes that is 10 hours 40 minutes!!)
