When i ddi it on my x12xe i had to remove the throttle cable and the black plastic cover to the top of the inlet and it was put on with torx screws.
Get yourself a haynes manual

i just hope it is the icv tbh i read in 1 of the posts that the icv gets filthy if the head gaskets ever gone, mine has a few months ago.
symptoms are, kangaroo'ing and i wouldent say lumpy idling but there is an idle issue with it... its not that bad that it shows up on the rev counter but you can feel it in the steering wheel.

The icv is not related to the head gasket in any way Clean the icv for a start and see if it solves the lumpy idleing. If not, it could be any number of other sensors

I cleaned the ICV on mine yesterday. I had the same symptoms. Idle, lack of power and very lumpy.
The ICV is the black cylindrical bit with two torx screws holding it to the side of the throttle body. Take it out and then spray it with carb cleaner and a rag. Then spray down the hole it comes out of and clean that out. If that doesn't solve it, it's probably fecked.
