TBH i go for the Athlon 4400+ as it has twice as much L1 cache
I'd also go for a Nvidia card, a 7600

TBH for a budget system it really isnt too bad.
Are you putting this into an old system you built or something you bought off the shelf?

Into a system I built a few years ago. So I will definatly need to buy some more cooling fans, most likely?

Yeh, my PSU is a 350W I think, and I definatly need more fans.
Edit - Im pricing it up on eBuyer, and alreasy its cheaper

TBH 350W isnt too good these days, might want to upgrade that.
Its not always abot fans either, its about good placement of the components for the best air flow, and tidy cables so it doesnt prevent the airflow.
And when you do go for fans...high quality 120mm fans as they'll be the quietest!

Awesome, thanks for the help Cosmo.
I agree a 350w isn't the best, but I bought this PC about 2 years ago now, and again it was bought on a bit of a cheap budget
Edit - Is Crucial a good make of RAM??

yeah Crucial isnt too bad. Any of the brand name RAM will be fine for a budget PC IMO, you wont be putting it through major workloads or overclocking so will handle what you throw at it.

Looks like a good setup, and what's the problem with Geil ram? Gets bloody good reviews, doesn't cost the earth and is overclockable 'til the cows come home
I would look on ebay and overclockers forum (For Sale section) as you will beable to pick up bargins - could get a 2nd hand AMD 4000/4200 for similar money you're paying for the 3800. And i would look at spending a bit more on the graphics card (look at special offers and clearence sections too)

geil ram is fine. cpu is fine, mobo will do, but for an extra 40 quid you can get a 1950 pro which is miles better than a 1300

I will check the Overclockers Forum, I need to sell my 360 before I buy anything though
Edit - I can't see the for sale section on their forum
