are they different?

it appears a non airbag steering wheel wits further back that the airbag wheel therfore fouling the shroud

just wondering is it the couloum, or i need a different shoud

dont quote me on this but i think there is a difference between the shrouds, couldnt tell you what though

The shrouds are different.. thats the kowling isnt it?? I changed my airbag steering wheel to a GSI streeing wheel and i couldnt get the shroud back on, i cant see any major differences but the none airbag one is shorter by the looks of it

none airbag is shorter
i have that, but it wont clear my ignition barrel either side

the column plastics are bigger on air bag models so it can take the contactor unit the plastics are stamped up air bag or air

not to sure but you may find the the plastic bit that holds the stalks are different aswell (bit that at the top of the column)

i have early style non air bag platic shrouds
i have late spec air bag plastic shrouds

neither will fit
ive put a non airbag wheel on a airbag car
the top half fits but the bottom will not clear the ignition hole, or the back of the igntion barrel, plus its too long to clear the wheel itself

so i was wondering if the late spec had a slightly wider shround to clear the ignition, "like the air bag one is
but is still short for non air bag ones

so late spec 99 ish, but non air bag
then if i can get the part code of that i can source one and put my car back together
