Hmmmm :O not too healthy ex-passenger side front disc. They were wrecked at my last knockhill outing, but i just thought they were warped. They were not cracked after that, but must have just put them over the edge on sunday with the cold 1/4mile braking.

Drilled disks have got a bad rep, always been told that slashed is better, or there si the ones with pimples!

AFAIK they are standard GTR discs..... maybe not :/

better off with plain disks of good quality. slashed/dimpled also eat pads

BRAKE FADE EXPLAINED
All pads contain some organic (living) materials. Resins that bind pad compounds together are organic - petro-chemical products. As these overheat the resins revert to gas and cause the pads to “aquaplane” on a gas film which is called fade. Some pads only fade once or twice and then settle down (Green fade or bedding in fade). Other, cheaper pads suffer from continual dynamic fade, sometimes at surprisingly low temperatures.

the 'drilled' discs avoid that aquaplaning type effect, and grooves do the same and essentialy wipe the pad face

Why most porche upgrades have drilled disks
why most rarris have drilled disks





Seriously though, I think drilled or grooved are just as effective as each other. Next being ceramic.

I'd be seriously cheesed off that my disks would have broken like that though!

i think they are just tired old discs ( i have no info on them age/make etc)

I'm running pretty harsh pads on them (was).... 1 day must have been too much ( Ferrodo race pads, DS3000)

new ones are on now http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=317033&page=24
