Here's some pics of my inlet i've been making.


TB mount and back plate.


Inlet body.


Inlet holes.


TB mount all welded on.


Back plate welded and smoothed, also threaded holes for vacuum take off points.

Still needs machining to make sure the inlet body mounting surface is flat.

What do u think?

Looks like 5mm Marc.

Graham, I hope your welds are strong, some of the ebay ones have fallen apart at the seams

Yeah its 5mm thick 75mmX75mm box section mild steel, all tig welded together.
Its what was lying around in work, lol.

I'll have it cad plated to stop corrosion then then the outside painted the colour of my car.

i made mine from gaskets and an old tb.

I've still gotta make my throttle cable holder and roller to change the angle of the cable.

More pics of inlet.



Had the throttle cable holder and a bracket for a roller welded on.
The roller will keep the cable in line with the cam on the tb.

Thats looking good!

Make sure you RR it before and after fitting!

Are you going to sell them on if you see good gains?

I'm not making it to sell, just didn't want to pay out for one when i could make one, lol.

So far all its cost me is a box of sweets to keep the welder happy. lol

You remove the old upper inlet manifold and this fits onto the lower inlet manifold

Yes, but if its a C16 you also need to change the lower inlet to an X16 one.

theres an astra in my local scrappy would i b able to use that one? its a mk3 and its the 1.6 16v ecotec?
