on the way home from work on friday my car randomly started running like shite and making a horrible noise.

i got it home and done a compression test and there was nothing from the 3rd cylender.

so i thought that my cambelt had slipped a tooth or two. after checking the cambelt i found out that it was nice and tight and no sign of damage! so im really confused.

also the timing was spot on so off comes the head and this is what i saw

have any of you ever seen or heard pf this hapening before?

its not the normal way tho rachel. normally when a head gasket goes the oil mixes with the water by getting into the water cooling pockets around the head!

as you can see the gap in my gasket is from piston to piston!

Thats exactly how the head gasket on our GSi had gone.

That Vauxhall garage need to be avoided from this day forward.

the 2 grooves in the top and bottom of each piston are so the valves dont collide with the pistons. the water cooling pockets are the wierd shaped holes with water in. the round ones are for your head bolts
