Heres the story.

I plugged a 12v compressor (used to inflate a blow up matress) into my cigarett lighter. This didnt work and i think it has a fused a couple of things.

I then drove off and my speedo wasnt going up, so i had no idea of the speed i was doing. Also my mileage wasnt going up?

Then my power steering went totally. Ive no idea how, but it all happened all together. If i stopped the car then started it again, the powersteering would work for about 5 minutes and then stop again.

Also on the way home my EML came on twice for about 10 secons each.

Any ideas whats happened and what i can do to sort it out. Ill pop it on the tech 2 machine at vauxhall on Saturday

Help?

A friend had a similar problem, and think its the alternator.

Its just that the powersteering will last for about 5 minutes before it doesnt work.

Are there just a few different colour fuses, if i buy a set from halfords?

Also, what would cause the engine management light to come a few times?

It's definitely fuses, not alternator.
