As above realy and costs of best and cheapest ways of doing it.
Thinking along the lines of throttle bodies of some desription, 264 degree cams, headwork and stand alone management.
Open to all cergestions apart from people saying 'just drop a c20xe in'

Throttle bodies, 4 branch manifold, 264 cams, headwork and management will give you a real 160bhp.

with that spec plus some really good mapping you can see 170+
easy to live with on a daily basis, economical and great fun.

To be honest, if you're having headwork and stuff done, you might as well get the pistons pocketed and go for bigger cams and more power...
272 or 280 maybe

Yea i wouldnt mind some realy hardcore cams for the nice lumpy tickover but its just how useable it would be in traffic ect.

It'd be fine, broster had 288deg cams and a paddle clutch and it was fine in traffic.

The engine wont be lumpy at all if the mappings done well.
You'll only get a lumpy idle with high duration/lift cams on std management.
