The chamber size is different, so it will alter the compression ratio(lower it)

well ive got a c12nz engine in my car at the minute but last night it went onto 3cylinders, checked it all over today and ended up doing a compression test as i couldnt find anything wrong and turns out there is absolutely nothing in cylinder 3. i think its just a valve burnt out as there is no smoke coming out the dipstick hole when its running and ive been told there would be if it had damaged a piston etc.
ive got a c14nz engine out my old corsa though but that is heavily burning oil as the piston rings have gone so was just wonderin if there was anyway of doing it by using bits off both engines thats all.
where abouts in stoke are you and how much?
