VX all the way.
Who remembers Clarksons review of them?

The VX220 is like taking a Armini jacket, and sewing a Millets label into it!

I was just today considering which of the 2 i will one day own!
Would love an exige, but the 220t gets the thumbs up over an elise anyday.

get a vx220.. then supercharge it for the same price as you would buy a tubbie.

means then 250bhp instead of 200, thats what im doing

I went for the elise, amazing car but what a mistake! Every week i was back at the lotus garage with different problems
The radiator went
The window fell in the door one day when i was winding it up!!!
the bonnet and boot rust if you dont WD40 them every week!!
I used to have to keep a black bin bag over the boot so it would start - i went home for lunch once and it rained, and the car wouldnt start so i had to get the bus back
and the radio would only get signal if the headlights were on - whats that about?!
It was a series one, i know the series 2 are meant to be slightly better especially if they have the VVT-i engines.
I would have another one, but its certainly not a day to day car and its certainly not worth more then 8k! Its a toy and you have to spend toy money on it.
According to thorny motorsport the n/a is the VX220 to go to, and i would trust those guys as they really know what they are talking about - they sell them too )

Close mate

Courtenays SC only gives 220.....with Milltek it will get 240.

You would do better to get a stage 2+ done and some proper wheels and Nitrons before a SC TBH.

As for the choices above?

I would comment as follows (all cars in standard form)

If your budget is around 7-8k I would get an S1 Elise....though be mindful the suspension maybe shot, also the headgasket...

Bit of a gap here....depends on the car really....a good S1 Elise or bad vx220....your choice really

10-13k VX220 NA.....no question.

13-18k VXT

I wouldn't consider an S2 Elise unless it was a 111R....

However, as Chris said.....there are many tuning options.....
