Anyone get problems with oil getting into the induction manifold on 1.4/1.6 xes? Especially that little top hose that goes from the rocker into the top inlet. I see the X20XEV has a black box (oil seperator) in the pipework to stop this happening.

They do tend to a breathe alot these small block 16v's.

Excessive oil could be a sign of worn piston rings tho, pressure seeping past the rings, forcing oil out the crankcase

i had probs with the oil pissing out when i fitted the mantzel style inlet to my x14xe but a catch tank and a breather pipe seemed to sort the problem out!

i took the breather off mine when i fitted my inlet. the pipes just floating round on top of my gear box making it oily. looking to get a catch tank on it soon.

The XEV swirl pot setup is shit, they just get clogged up with gunge.

You can buy an oil recirc breather setup from procomp, or look at the pics on their site and copy it

Where are the two pipes going that come out of the catch tank?

There is four hoses (one to sump,engine cam cover and one is a vent , i'm making a couple of these at the min will get some pics up when they are done.
They retail for around £400 + vat hoping to get the price at around £300.
