It only gives you the illusion! The weight you've lost is probably less than half a tank of fuel! Only way wieght loos will make a noticeable difference if you go mad!

It's not an illusion.

Less weight = more speed. fact.

The stuff in the back end weighs a fair amount all together...

Yes Robin but it's not a noticeable difference in reality, maybe .1 of a second over a 1/4 miles? Possibly .25

It stiffens up the chassis which means even more fun.

How much do you think a half cage weighs?

It's less than the stuff which was in there to start with.

Broster/jr's cages weigh 20kg at the most.

I think jr will probably know the exact weight as he's a geek.

I'm not saying it is, but it's a good way of measuring what difference taking a rear bench and a few bits of plastic make, and imo it will make fuck all difference.

People do drive the car round corneres too. There is more to a car than how quick it goes up Santa Pod, how much BHP and how uch torque it has. Are you sure you aren't a 12 year old boy?

My car was substantially better round corners with less weight in the back.

Go and put 2 bags of cement in the back of your 106 and report back.

Or simply just try driving the car with 3 people in it, or 4 if you are daring.
