Im planning on doing the callipers on my Mini Cooper this weekend!!
I have a brand new jack in my VW Golf Company car which Im guessing will be enough to lift the Mini up!?
What I was wondering is if I have 4 axle stands, can I raise the car up, put the axle stand underneath in all 4 corners, and have the car fully raised and just resting on the axle stands, or should I only do it 1 or 2 corners at a time??
Also, where is the best place to buy axle stands, as Ive heard of some really poor quality ones snapping, etc!!
Cheers

that will hold the car up for sure. have a look on screwfix.com for some other deals, might be cheaper.

Check the Golf jack fits ok, the new Mini's have plastic blocks on the sill's to jack them up from so the jack out of the golf might not be the right shape to fit.

recieved it today, and thought before i actually went the whole way and did the brakes, id have a practice and try jacking up my Golf (as the Mini wasnt here)!!
Its more difficult than I thought, and when I was getting to the point where the tyre was about to leave the floor, I was shitting myself, and then it made a big cracking sound, but didnt drop or anything, but it scared me enough to stop me doing it, and lower the car back down!! where will be the best place to put the trolley jack to lift the car, on the original jacking point covers!!?

just tried with the Mini, and it went up ok!! didnt try to put the axle stand underneath, but managed to get the wheel off the floor easily enough!!
just out of interest, where does the axle stands go as obviously the jacking point is still on the jack, so will the axle stand just go further along the same place (closer to the wheel or the other side of the jack??)
