i was working on the girls car today. put new plugs in her 1.0 12v to try and cure the missfiring, started the car and it ran perfectly..... for about two minutes. started missfiring again so i took the plugs back out and they were black. does this mean the coil pack is away?

coil pack would cause an intermittent or non existant spark if it was faulty (missfire)
black plugs are a sign of running rich, the fact it happens when it warms up points to the coolant temp sensor being faulty.
