Football = It's a game of skill

whereas

Rugby = It's a game of fat oaf's dragging people to the floor and occassionally throwing a ball

Rugby League is where it’s at

The players respect the ref, you can take your family to the stadium without the worry of them getting a bottle in the face from an angry opposition fan, the players are proper athletes lean athletes rather then skinny diving fairies

I wouldn't say Rugby isn't skillful, I prefer football, but I wouldn't rubbish Rugby at all. I agree about diving fairies and conning the ref's etc... though I do think football involves more skill, vision and stamina ( unless your a goalkeeper ).

thats true, and its cheaper to go and watch, more happens in a game of rugby, than in 3 games of football, plus when a rugby player gets injured, most of them just get up and try to play on unlike a footballer who will roll around on the floor crying like a girl

Never watched a full game of rugby and never will, on the other hand i could watch any football at all at even a half decent level.

i agree. Rugby League players are awesome athletes, the guy with the fat oaf comment is obviously a bit slow.

I respect Rugby players, wouldn't catch me chasing an Egg round a field being smashed all the over the shop just for the sake of it

I'll watch Rugby if its on, but there is so much wrong with the way they go about it in the stands that makes me laugh, its more like a circus up at Odsal when Bradford play than a sporting event

have played both Rugby (Union) and Football to a decent (ish!) level so can appreciate both.

I played Rugby Union to a good level and think football could take alot of ideas from the sport to improve however I must admit I probably enjoy watching football more than Rugby unless it's a top international match

I've been going to football matches since I was 4 years old and have only been intimidated twice in those 20 years. Once in Cardiff, and once against Millwall. Maybe you are generalising a bit too much?

Got to agree with Nath. I have been going to football matches for years and years now and have only once seen violence inside the ground and once outside of it. Both of which were only small scuffles and nothing more.

Both of mine were in the Mid 90's too, you don't see anything like that anymore.
