ok i know theres 2 kinds and that i have got the right kind, but i was going to fit them today but realised i need new discs... i thought i would connect the 2 pads anyway and check if they would fit over the brake disc ok!

They fookin dont... the pads look way too high for them

wait a second.

So let me get this right you have worn out ( maybe warped discs) and you are putting new pads in your calipurs and they dont fit?

Also use some copper grease to fit them in place they usually take abit of a push.

hey m8.

i got new pads today and they fit in the calipers no problem (they are the right size anyway).

i need new discs because they have a pretty big lip on the enge so the pads don't contact the discs too well.

I put the new pads in the caliper and decided to fit it back over the disc to make sure they went in ok, but they seem too long :S as in too thick lol and they didn't go over

would this not be down to the fact that there is a huge lip on the disc?

it shouldnt be because the lip on the discs is where the pad hasnt worn it away... so the new discs will be the same... obviously not worn away though lol...

Did you force the piston back into the calliper, as you always do fitting new pads?

Yes you put the pad into place, then usually use a screwdriver or the like to force the piston back very slowly.

Make sure you take the reservoir cap off as well, so you don't reverse the valves in the master cylinder.

You will have to do it even more if you have a lip on the disc, as the old pads would have been closer together.

Are they not like the 106 one??

I dont know the technical names, but; the metal round bit on my pads slip into place ( with a screw driver ) then i just push the calipur open alittle with a flat head screw driver.

Surely its quite similar with corsas.

i see! i will have to have a look for that tomorrow will make my day easier!!

i didnt have to mess about with anything like that when i put my old pads back in did i? or do you just have to play with the piston if you are having trouble getting them over the discs
