The engine is making a loud engine noise until gear change think its the Thrust Bearing, is this a gearbox out job? Anyone know prices for this kind of job?

if it is the clutch release bearing then its a gearbox off job, do the complete clutch kit.
price would depend on which engine and car it is

Ah is the Clutch Release and Thrust Bearing the same thing? Oh and its a 1.7 Diesel Corsa B

Yes there the same thing.
If its making a noise when driving it isn't the release bearing.
That will only make a noise when you press the clutch.

Change it before it gets any worse i didn't and it was a ball ache as i had to be towed home by my brother as it went as i was pulling out of a junction.
(one of the many times our drew has towed me home actually)

Ah the dreaded "Tow me home" phone call.. had that many a time! Do you know if it requires the gearbox to be taken out or how much it costs to replace?

As i say mine only made a noise when engaging the clutch then as it got worse the gears where harder and harder to change then bang and it was all over the gearbox.
Yes it will require the gearbox coming off.

Not really.
It would make a grinding/whirring noise as soon as you put the clutch down, no matter what gear the gearbox is it.
