Updated. Please read.
My car failed its MOT for 3 reasons,
1st: Bracket on the anti-roll bar on the front missing, Im guessing I can source one from a scrappy?
2nd: Gaiter missing from the CV? apparently I can buy a gaiter set to fit it?
3rd: Extreme play in the nearside rear bearing. now I got an advisory on the other side saying there was slight play. now a trainee mechanic mate of mine did my bearings for me on the rear. so the bearings aren't worn, how would I remedy such play?

as long as nothing on the wheel/tyre sticks out from the arch itl be fine. looks ok to me. as for the plates put the legal ones on!

erm will double sided tape do? mine are stuck on & screwed!
as for the wheels they dont stick out the top of the arch front or back

stick on with tape, velco anything will do as long as their legal
EDIT - give a good thrash before you go and leave it running before the test to keep it warm

they might wonder why you plates are 2 plates thick though? not saying that it will effect the MOT though

mot cant do anything but look at the front plate so if you have one stuck over another then thats fine.
You may find if you leave them on the passenger seat some testers will let it go anyway.
Or cable tie them over!!

wouldnt use sellotape tbh how about some duck tape or something quite heavy duty and double it back to turn it into a double sided tape. most mot stations up here dont take much notice of the numberplates as long as they are legal standard sized ones with normal writing, oh aye good luck tomorrow with the mot mate

cable tied them over, just gotta make sure it ain't obscuring the lettering.
thanx for the good luck guys, anyone know if they find rubber bungs/caps or what ever they are - missing etc they'll fail me on that?

hmm, just at the back of the calipers on the front im missing a rubber seal. It doesnt effect anything but was just curious.
MOT 2moz now as he cant fit me in today!

Shouldnt affect it no as it doesnt stop your brakes working.

rears basically take the split pin out tighten the castle nut ever so slightly and refit the split pin, but dont overtighten the nut or it will wear the bearing out!

I've done this and the funny sound I get on a harsh right turn has slightly decreased. Its still there but alot quieter. thats surely a good thing?

If it's still there then possible the bearing has worn and you'll have to replace it.

1. get one from the scrappy. easy!
2. no gaiter on the cv??? dont drive it and will prob need a new cv joint as it must knock like fook!
3. dont drive it till its sorted. if wheels fall off going quick it could be lights out.

no CV boot at all? Or a split one?
I had a rear wheel bearing go pop on me once. It melted to the stub axle! If it got any worse the wheel would have come off and i'd be in a hedge lol!
New stub axle, new brake drum and new wheel bearing were needed so get that sorted before it gets worse.

I had a front wheel bearing sieze once and snap the stub axle.
Bye bye wheel disc caliper the lot.
I shit my pants.
Not a corsa though was a nissan cabstar van on 15s with tractor tyres

maybe I used the wrong wording, trying to learn as I go along, the mechanic @ the test center told me to use a cable tie where the gaitor is.
Ive just drove home on a quiet few roads and tested the rear left on some hard right turns and its now perfect. no grind hum nothing.
the bearings a barely a few weeks old. they aint worn as the bolts holding them in were on the loose side.

I forgot to mention when tightening the tapper? it was only about 3mm so barely anything but seems to of done the trick
