I use a drop-neck spanner and a torx bit. Some people use a socket, drop the allen key down the hole of the socket and use mole grips to hold the socket in place.

you cant use an allen key on corsa standard suspension. as you said the top mount is the shape of an allen key. i used a pair of mole grips to hold the top mount. and a drop neck ring spanner to undo the nut Oh and please clamp ther springs corectly

use a drop spanner and a socket to go over the centre bit on std suspension. in my tutorial i was fitting new springs to my already uprated dampers so used an allen key. sometimes its possible to use a torx socket over it as they can grip better and not round the centre bit.

when you take the topmount off, you will see there are several bits underneath it, you are gonna need to used them all as one part has a bearing in it so when you turn the steering the suspension can rotate. all will become clear when you split the strut.

you dont have to compress the coilover spring. The order should be - coilover spring seat, the topmount bit with the bolts sticking out the top, then the metal dome thing. Throw away the standard rubber spring seat. You dont need that.

then do the bolt up - this will compress the spring without using spring compressors
