coilovers can be better, depending on what you spend.
if its under £500+ get a decent fixed rate kit such as Bilstein.

if you want it to handle mint then i wouldn't go that low...
i'd get coilovers if you want it that low, as you'll soon get pissed off with it scrapping on the smallest of bumps..
i know i did, not i've raised mine to a sensible height

well ive got spax rsx on at the moment.but i dont like having to use the wheel spacers and they never get adjusted so theres no point having them.they are 60 at the back at the moment and its to hight.they are 60+ at the front and theres no scrapping.

bilsteins wont go down any more than 50-60mm and operate properly really.
its also pointless splashing out on premium shocks just to ruin the handling with 70mm springs anyway.

Vsport now do a bilstein kit with 55mm front springs and 50mm rears. its a shockingly good £340. uses the proper bilstein sport dampers and springs.

we do a set of our own spec Gaz coilovers specially designed for the c20xe which will go as low as 30- 80mm. and you can have either rear coilovers or 50, 60, 70 80, or 90mm rear springs. fully damping adjustable.
rear whiteline ARB's are fantastic, I prefer no front Arb, not needed if the front suspension is set up right.
