well really they usually dont do just 1 scratch at a time a typical body shop will repair both scratches on the door as they will paint the full panel same on bk, i qoute 180 if i was doing it, so i will say around 180 mark

The answer is...
A - £95
B - £95
C - £115
£305 in total. I could believe the way that the prices are calculated. He came out with a piece of paper with measurements on it and prices next to that. The longer the scratch the more expensive it was.

get a bodyshop to give you a qoute.
Halfords would be the last place i'd go to for scratch repair to be honest

they use crap smart repair systems and its just not upto standard!
a body shop will be about £250 for that, well thats what i would roughly quote you!

halfords do not make the prices up. the company "shine" carecare" make the price up as they do the work.
the work they do is top notch too.
its down to using your brain, a simple bumper scuff or similar on a 5 year old car or newer is worth getting it fixed
anything older isn't worth it be honest a ten year old corsa. not a chance.
use your head go to a bodyshop and have the whole panel or side sparayed withh still come out about around £300 odd though

funny, i seen them do a dent on a creaseline or a volvo s80 where the panel goes down the dshape of the rear1/4 panel
the dent can only be described as it had been shot
you could not tell it was ever there.
and ontop of that it gauranteed aswell 50% of bodyshops dont gaurantee the work as in a year they will have moved on changed name/premises etc

a 2 year old bmw 5 series, £300 to fix seems worth it
a ten year old corsa, can be purchased for £300 so is definatly not worth it.

the fix is still not as good as a body shop will do, i had a similar fix done on a scratch on the leon, painted up and they use mobile infrared heaters to "bake" it, looked wonderful there and then but over time the paint goes a little dull and doesnt match the rest of the panel

i can understand it from that point of view.
I was just saying if i had a scratch down the side of my car (which i do thanks to my brother and his bike) i wouldn't immediatly think of halfords IMO, but then again i do have a bodyshop which i use, which do advertise in our local paper and are not some backstreet paint shop.
So i suppose it might be down to the situation, if you don't know where a bodyshop is then it would proberly be easier to go to halfords
