hi. this is a warning... my bro was recently going to be buying a car from london road motors in southend. (you may remember me posting about the astra...)
he put down a £200 deposit on the astra, then after a day he changed his mind and thought hed go for a renault megane they had instead. he got the car checked over by a mechanic and it was all good.
my bro went back there this morning, intending to buy the megane, but was going to say to the bloke can you knock off £100 as the car comes with no petrol, no tax and needs a new cambelt (not having a tax sounds dodgy to me from a garage anyway) ... well after he said that to him he told my bro to fuck off from his forecourt, and started coming towards him. started getting really larey and just lost it. took off his glasses and shirt and got right in my bros face telling him to fuck off now or he was basically gonna have a fight right there, all this for absolutely no reason, my bro was just standing there!
so anyway he left cause he didnt want a fight, but hes lost £200 to this arsehole cause obviously would never trust actually handing over £2,000 to him for the megane...
just want to spread the word to avoid this cowboy, i dont think youd get much help after he would have taken your money

PS: the garage also states "subject to a test drive" but he wouldnt let him test drive the car! as if youre going to buy a car without driving it. ridiculous!

No tax on the car is'nt dodgy at all, no point taxing a car to sit on the forecourt for a few weeks/months.

yeah i said to ring the police. but he also shouted at my bro "i know where you live" cause he did give his address previously... but hes moving in a couple of weeks! so gonna wait for the move before he does anything like that, as you dont know what this bloke is capable of.
i think hes gonna have a word with trading standards though, maybe watchdog too, good idea

i would go down the paint stripper route, our local ford garage were getting arsey, as i went to pull out of the road along side the garage they started beeping at me and laughing, i was like ermmm clearly theres cars coming along the road .

Gotta say I'm with willay on this one, paint stripping their cars will only get you a criminal record, it wont get your £200 back. Also the guy might be a badger, but I'm sure he could figure it out that is was you and come a paint strip your car!
