My mate was messing round with his PC in the BIOS settings. There was apparently an option regarding turning the PC on, he selected turn on with password?
So basically now his pc won't switch on and he can't enter a password coz theres no power!!!!!
Anything I can suggest to him?

some bios passwords can be turned off by removing the battery, or there could be a jumper on the motherboard to switch it off, what do you mean by no power?

I would say open up the PC (assuming it wont void any warrenty etc) and look on the motherboard for what looks like a watch battery. Take it out and leave it out for a few minutes. Put i back in and see if it will power up.

a bios password wont stop a pc from having no power, check the lead you have plugged in.

lmao why do people who dont know what they are doing fuck around in the BIOS?
you may also find a CMOS jumper on the motherboard as well to reset the BIOS.
I wouldnt rule out a blown PSU either at this stage. IS the pc totally dead or do the fans whir when you plug a live power lead in?

unplug power lead and plug it back in sounds like something shorted it or something overheated...
