Can you get cheap chips to plug into your ecu which will raise the rev limit, and give a litlle extra power and torque??

theres loads on ebay are they any good??

is there anywhere that sells chips for about £40

if u raise the limit past 7200 or something then i think u need to get ARP bolts and that

i thought the bolts were about 300 quid or some from memory. i cud be wrong

you got a phone number for the company memory? wonder if memory sell them for other engines?

performance inlet, bmc cda, decat, 4-2-1 janspeed.

my car still pulls as it hits the limiter

About the cheapest is a superchip. About £300 tho, for not much gain.
But you have to specifically ask for the limiter to be raised.
My x16xe has a superchipped ecu, but the limiter is the standard 6750rpm.

You could put that £300 towards a full remap.

ARP's are £50ish.

yeh that is the route i am going getting some 264 cams and then a remap, but dont have the money at the moment, so was just wondering if there is a cheap chip that i could use until i have the money, which will be a while lol?

I agree with Steve. If you're going to get the standard ECU chipped, you might as well get a decent company to remap it for you, instead of getting a generic plug and play map.

It would, but it wouldn't do anything else.

With a proper remap, the fuelling is adjusted too, so the car runs better through the revs.

as i cant afford the full remap atm,

would i get any benifit from sticking a cheap chip in to raise the limit of my car because it still pulls at the limiter??

IMO, it's not worth buying cheap chip. Save the money you'd use for that, save some more, get a decent one. Job done.

muppet had a standard C20LET and fitted ebay chip and got 442bhp so it can be done.
