At work we have a small yard to get the cars in. My car wouldn't fit so i parked on the drive to it, which leaves enough room for pedestrians to get infront of.

Anyway someone at work told me i had just got a ticket and the guy i work with told the ticket twat that i work at the shop to where i was parked and he said it doesn't matter because i am parked on a public path and i crossed a yellow line to park there aswell... or something

Anyway i'm not paying this fine at the end of the day because that's where workers have parked for the last 20 years or so if they couldn't get their car in the yard. My boss hasn't mentioned he's going to pay the ticket, but i'm going to ask him tomorrow if he is because imo i was at work when it happened and i had nowhere else to park. Anyone agree?

There's also suggestions that i was parked on the drive to our yard so i shouldn't have had a ticket?

Here's some pics

Someone said get the dropped curb on a pic... And also shows plenty of walking space to get over the road (right of the grass)

Sorry for the old guy in the pics... hahaha
If i have to pay the ticket then i'm handing my notice in ASAP!

you parked there, you pay IMO.

But...I would contest it if you feel it having a dropped kerb, always been used and leaving loads of room makes a difference.

Apparently double yellow lines mean the parking is restricted right across the pavement until it reaches private property, so technically you are liable. Still shit though.

20 years of parking there...

See if you can claim an easement or "right" over land Takes 20 odd years to earn these under common law

It's not your bosses job to find you somewhere to park...??

it's up to you to get to work and find suitable parking.

I got a ticket while parking for work.

I'd be told to gtf if I asked for the money.

You should have got there early enough to park legally.

I'd rather get there late as well.
I contested my ticket and ended up paying more dirty bampots that they are.

I wouldn't have dreamt of asking work though.
