I live in a top floor flat (2nd floor up)
The couple below me both smoke. When they do, they hold the cigarette out the window and also exhale the smoke out the window. Great, this stops the smoke from entering their well decorated flat.
However, if my front window is open, which it usually is...the smoke comes straight into my flat and stinks the place out.
Because they are smoking in their own property i don’t think I’ll have a leg to stand on. But i thought I’d ask anyway.
All flats are owned by the tenants and therefore there are no landlords i can contact.
Apart from going down and asking them to go out the building to smoke, I’m not sure what else i can do.

So you have trouble with their unwanted odours coming up into your flat? Maybe you should hang your wang out and piss down into theirs

I did consider that.
When i clean up, i make a point of emptying my dust pan and brush out the window in the hope that it goes into theirs

That's a good idea mate, also try collecting a variety of spiders etc and empty them out of your window too

my house dont stink-i go outside,my car dont stink,cause i always get out,my teeth are white,and the premature death is alot of nonsense cause i kno old people who smoke like a burning smokebomb factory,
fair enough not smokin for all,i kno its not a nice/cool/big thing to do, but it gets on my tits when no smokers bubble about sh*t. my nieghbors smoke comes into my house,i can smell it,but i dont cry about it

i can tell you now, that smoking can kill, as my grandad died from lung cancer caused by smmoking, and no non smoker should have to put if with a smokers smoke if they dont want it

One of my grandmothers died recently from lung cancer attributed to smoking.
The remaining one is practically chain smoking, but is *touchwood* very healthy and approaching her 90s.
It's just luck at the end of the day, but regardless it's a nasty thing to have to put up with when you're suffering like Aj is.

Is that supposed to be a joke? Smoking kills, end of. They dont put it on the packet for no reason. My gran has cancer as a result of it even though she gave up 20 years ago, had two unsuccessful operations to remove it aswell  Giving up smoking is the best thing i ever did, its completely pointless and makes you look like a twat

I don't think you would either.
You can smoke in your own home, which is what they're doing, so regardless of where the smoke goes, there's no law against it, which is unfortunate for you.

you may have a case for pollution same as next door can be done for playing music too loud, its not illegal to play music but if it interferes greatly with others it is

It was the point Robin, i'd be pissed off if it was happening to me as well.
Smoking kills no matter how much smokers like to babble on.

All I'm saying is, it's their house/window/balcony/garden. There is NO law saying they cannot smoke on their property, however unfortunate that might be, it's the case.
Shooting people is illegal. Smoking in your own home is not.
