A draft letter that I could copy / paste & amend would be nice, also any info.
Not for me but I'm going to help someone with theirs.
Fanks!

your not too late, whats going on is a big court case, so they are frozen at the moment until the this one court case is settled.
quote: On the 27 July 07, the banks and the OFT agreed to a bank charges reclaiming test case in the High Court. A series of co-ordinated announcements also effectively put a hold on bank charges reclaiming until the case has been decided. It is crucial you read ALL the bullet points below before continuing.

no ALL the banks are being taken to court by the OFT, the judge ruled whilst the case is ongoing ALL bank charge refunds are frozen, and like i said the case could go on for years, so noones got a hope yet for the forseeable future too

They wont all be on hold till this case is sorted. If they dont reply keep sending them the letter saying they have broken the 40 days in which they have to reply to you.
its just the banks trying to avoid paying out. If they keep putting everyone off then there are going to be huuuggee amounts going to court.

quote: While you cannot currently make claims through the ombudsman as he is not dealing with any new matters until after the test case you are not prevented from bringing court proceedings. Although having said that you may find that these are stayed until after the test case there is no uniform practice in the courts. Have you checked that Bank Smart are authorised to handle claims work. You can check this by going to www.claimsmanagement.gov.uk.
