How long would it take to cycle about 6 miles? Not much uphill, not much downhill, and on good surfaces.

Basically i'm thinking about cycling to and from work, but only if it doesn't take an hour! I used to cycle everywhere as a kid, now i'm lazy.

20 minutes I'd say.

I used to pedal just over 3 miles to work and would take me 11 minutes.

Sounds good! Might give it a try one day this week. It takes 15mins in the car but thats due to traffic, i'd rather have no traffic and 15mins added to my journey.

I should really start cycling to work again, but now I work in an office I don't fancy turning up with a wet back! I can't pedal slow so I know for a fact I'd be flustered when I got there

I cycled to work for 3 years in all conditions. Came off a few times in winter, my estate has no through roads so they weren't clear at 7:30 on a morning.

When I passed my test I vowed to cylce a few days a week, that was 6 years ago and I havn't cycled to work since.

I have a mountain bike, no suspension, 21 gears etc.... Saracen something or other, i'd have to blow the dust and cobwebs off it as its been in the shed for about 8 years!

I wouldn't be opposed to buying a new bike if I were to make it a regular occurence.

I used a Trek 800 24 speed mountain bike, I just fitted mud gaurds to it. Hybrid bikes are no good and racers are pointless unless you get a decent one, which isn't really needed for work.
