My mate has just fitted an HID kit to his starlet
When in dip the lights are a nice blue, xenon look. When he goes onto high beam it just looks like its his old bulbs, looses all the blue colour and they look dim as hell. The guy in the shop who fitted them is positive they are wired in correctly.
Im still not believing their wired in correctly, im thinking of buying a set but not if they arent any better on high beam
Can anyone reccomend a place to buy these from? does Dave A still have them?

They are wired correctly. The kit your mate has bought is not a hi/lo kit (high beam and dipped beam) It sounds like its just a dipped beam kit.

ok, bit pointless cause I would want HID's to be functional, and not just look good. i.e driving at night. they were £150 aswell

Id only buy the kits with the full beam HID function as well as the low beam, looks a bit silly otherwise.

sounds like a single HID kit. what he needs is a dual H7 HID kit.
We can still do our kits but people dont like paying the extra so we dont advertise tham as much anymore as theres so many cheap shitty kits on Ebay that we cant compete price wise.
I have sold over 100 HID kits and not had 1 single complaint, compare that with the £99 kits on ebay that go through bulbs and ballasts so often.
I could knock up kits for about £90 but just think, cheap bulbs and ballast packs, dark night on an unlit road at 50mph and then your lights go off. not fun.
