What details could I get from my ecu assuming I had the correct tool? e.g. water temp.

The list is endless lol.
Water temp,
Throttle Position Voltage
Throttle Position in degrees
RPM
Battery Voltage
EGR Valve Status,
My tool at work does loads lol. I can also test components etc

I mean how do they get the data, im wanting to know so i have a project which i want to do.

Going to build an in car computer, then going to create a program to read the ecu so i can then print on screen certain ecu varibles and maybe add my own sensors to the engine and print them onto the screen aswell . .

better off gettng the software and buildin a pc into the car/dash. Im going to do it on my corsa i have now.

try on fleabay, there is always cheap obd software on there. You will also need a cable to go from your comm port on the pc to your diag plug which is OBD 1

Hmm, seems that if I find somewhere that explains how to read OBD I shall be able to do what I want .

Ah, another question. Will I still be able to use this kit if I ever decide to go for a C20LET?

not sure on that one. I cant see it being a problem aslong as you wire the conversion in properly ie to the diagnostic plug

Well wouldn't be me doing it, but I'm sure Dave will do it properly .
