Hi all. Decided its about time I started a build up thread for my little corsa b. Purchased the car back in march of this year. Went and viewed it on the saturday along with two other similar corsa's but decided this was the one for me. Needed a little bit of tlc but nothing too major. Done a deal on it for just under £800 and collected it the following day Can't actually drive it yet as i'm still only 16 but cant wait to get it on the road!

Pics from the day we picked it up

The first thing I bought was a GM GSI boot spoiler from Sripower off here. Had a go at spraying it with rattle cans myself but the quality was poo!

By now i'd had the car 2 weeks. Was helping my dad clean his car when i noticed the pasanger side door of my car was unlocked. Went round to have a look and it had been broken into!! the door had been bent right back and had a nasty dent in it, couldnt believe it luckily nothing was taken.

I then moved the car into the garden (safer there) and not alot happen for a few months due to my GSCE's coming up. But by now i had a good idea of how i wanted it to look so set about removing the exterior bumpers and trim so i could get it into the bodyshop.

The post 97 bumpers were later sold and are now on Ste L's corsa

Then after months of searching i found a post 97 colour coded bumper that was local!
trial fitted it quickly

I noticed a Glacier white bumper on corsasport and decided to buy it, this meant one less thing to get done a the bodyshop

Now that i'm working i had some more funds, I got some brand new mhw smoked lights for a bargin at £100 posted. Thanks to marklaruk

came back after a week in spain and my battery had died so the radio had gone into safe mode Didnt have the code to fix it so my dad kindly gave me his old headunit that came out of his old MG ZT.

Behind the front bumper was looking a bit manky and rusty. Sanded off the rust, treated it, primed then sprayed it white. Looks loads better

Before

After

Now it was time for the biggest change yet, I'd saved up my money so it was body shop time! Went round a few places, most wanted around £400 which tbh i wasnt prepared to pay concidering thats half what i paid for the car. In the end i got it done through my work and got it done for a bargin of £200. The quality of the work was spot on too.

I had the bumper, mirrors, arches and boot spoiler sprayed

Spent saturday fitting the bits (spoiler going on next weekend) and gave it a damn good clean sunday as i hadnt cleaned it since i first got it so the paint was flat as a pancake lol

Washed, Clay bar, t cut, and polished. The pics dont so how shiny it really turned out

Next thing to do is to fit my GSI spoiler. Also just ordered a set of smoked Depo headlights off the bay which should be here within the next few days

Thanks for looking guys

Shaun

make sure you put plenty of wax on if you've t-cut and polished it, otherwise it'll dry and go wanky very quick.

natty's paste wax if you've got the cash (about £12 a tub on ebay, but does give very good lasting results when put onto well prepared paintwork).

lowered + nice rims (mandatory speedlines, tigra rims or softstars lol) and it'll look spot on. for a young 'en

Picked up my Tigra wheels on wednesday and fitted two of them today
could only fit two because the tyres on the other ones were beyond nakered

Do you think I should paint them gloss black or more of a grey colour?

As you can see its sitting like a monster truck at the min so next on the list is some 195/45/15 tyres and a 60mm drop

Started refurbing my lovely alloy wheels last weekend . Popped down halfords to pick a colour, went for Rover Hurricane Grey in the end as everyone put me off black lol Glad I went for grey now though

Stage one. sanded them back, filled the kurbs marks then went over it with 600, then 800 wet and dry

Then got got it masked up and gave it a 1st misty coat of grey primer

Fully primed and ready for paint

Sprayed and laquered

Really chuffed with the result. Can't wait to see how it looks on the car!
One down. Three more to go then new tyres are going on
