Driving back from college today and I noticed that the functions on the right hand side dial (Speedometer etc) was not working!!!???

A couple of mins later and the EML is on, I don't think it's a major concern although it's kinda risky not knowing what speed I'm doin

Has anyone else had this same problem?

and also isit an electronic speedometer or cable? (1.6 Sport 98' model)

I have been to a garage up the road and they are going to look @ it for me next week....

what do you think? let me know thanks!

Checked your fuses?

When i had my door card off the electric window switch shorted out on the bare door when I went over a bump, which resulted in all my gauges and revv counter not working.
Spedo still worked because it was cable driven.
Replaced the fuse and everything was fine.

If your speedo starts at 10mph, it's cable driven.

If it starts at 0, it'll be an electric one

thanks lads, it's ok it was my fuse 18 - my mate was p**sing around with my cig lighter earlier and he caused it to blow the fuse I think!

I did see however that my car does not have "Fuse 22" (ABS) does this mean that my car does not have it?

There will be a silver box infront of your battery with 4 (iirc) green pipes coming out of it if you have ABS
