It's hardly an expensive paperclip though is it. A paperclip can't give you live readouts or re-map the ECU

its just a lead to connect to a computer that will have tech 2 on, it isnt actualy tech 2. Fuck the paper clip test I want to be able to read all the sensors live, amount of times ive found the problem that way even when it hasnt even produced a code.

Well yes. It's an OBD 2 Port adaptor so you can plug your computer into your car and look at stuff. You will be able to read and write data to the ECU if you have the right software.

I should imagine the stuff Vauxhall use is a hell of a lot more than £4,000. Our Snap on scanner at work was a good few grand.

nah mate, each tech2 costs £2,500. best part of a grand for the 'can-di' intergrator module for the can-bus linked cars like astra H and vectra c. but we've replaced our tech2's 3 times this year, plus various power leads, service bills for tech2's this year are well into £9,000 at our place!

Can Vagcom do all cars or just Vag though Steve? Plus I should imagine using a pirate copy to make money and use in business comes with a hefty fine.

Will read error codes on other cars.

A legit copy is about 200 quid.

Vag com is good but the dealer tools like VAS have things vagcom doesn't, like coding my dash properly
