Right, I have an engine on an engine stand, all that is in it is the crank, no pistons, no rods, the head and sump aren't on.
How can I 'lock' the crank so I can remove the bottom pulley to pull the crank out?
There's no big hex bit on it like you get on cams sometimes, so I can't work out a decent way

Hi, not sure, haven't been that way since I was a Kid. Used to watch the Old Man stripp em. Can you get a 'G' cramp/clamp on the crank some where?
Lateral thinking to get the crank wedged.

Is the flywheel still fitted?
If not, refit it so you can lock the teeth.

Nope, and I don't have it as I'll be using the one from my 8v

probably the best thing then is put it in the back of your car then drive to the nearest place that has airtools. Will save you many an hour trying to undo it without breaking anything.

That might be the best option then.
I'll take it to Jamsport when I go over next time.
Cheers Phil.

put 2 of the flywheel bolts into the crank and put a bar accross them so you have something to lever against when removing pulley bolts
