To cut a long story short:
My Gf's phone got damaged by water last night. She's called up Orange and they said that she can put her Sim Card in any other Orange handset and it will work.
She has a Nokia 6230 kicking about her flat. She knows the password which is prompted when the phone turns on, but it automatically locks the keypad when you get into it and she doesnt know the password to unlock it (the keypad)
why the hell she put a keypad password on it dont know
Question is, how many attempts will she have at getting this right? She's tried twice already and is scared to try a third time in case she locks it.
My gut feeling is that she'll get as many goes as she wants to do this because she is already "in" the phone if you know what i mean.

I'm pretty sure it uses the sim pin though so 3 wrong attempts could block it. No problem though to ring Orange back up and get the PUK code.

Keypad password is unlimited attempts, i'm sure. I used to try and break into my brother nokia all the time and it never locked.

Keypad lock
No he means is it using the security pin code or sim pin code. I've not heard of a Nokia using another 3rd pin number for the keypad lock. Although not had them for awhile.

In that case then i'm not sure
I think i'll just tell her to keep guessing it and see what happens.
