I just did a search on PetrolPrices.com to see where was the cheapest around what with the price hykes.

I only ever use BP for some reason (probably Nectar points) and I've seen as much as 101p/litre, the lowest lately being 99.9p/litre.

But I increased the radius from 5 miles to 10 miles, and there were a lot of Shell garages, at 97.9p/litre for bog standard Unleaded.

Anyone else found this?! I might have to change

It doesn't bother me, and I'll probably still use BP.

The point I was making, is that prices has supposedly increased, I see Shell as a 'premium' brand as opposed to supermarkets or a brand like Jet, yet their prices have remained the same.

In Hitchin, BP charges 101p/litre, yet 30 second drive gets you 97.9p/litre at Shell.

I always use the Sainsbury's petrol in Biggleswade deano, the standard unleaded. Think the price has gone up a tad recently but I still think its ok priced.

I always use Shell - nothing wrong with it, as you say, considered a more 'premium' brand. I consistantly get more miles to a tank of Shell compared to Tescos crap.

well the refinery next to where I live produces around 60% of the UK's fuel which all comes from the same process plant. its then put into tanks & then metered & sold to companies that haul it to the fourcourts in tankers. Additives are added at some point along the line aswell.

Shell dropped their prices to regain customers they lost when they suffered a bout of credit card fraud scams originating from their forecourts.

92.9 last week, 94.9 now

i dont see why people use BP when it is like 5p a litre dearer than the one down the road,

pretty much all the petrol comes fromt he same place and is the same, so may aswell pay a little less

expecially on a 12volt

Isn't there like laws anyway which every petrol type has to abide by?
