700 for a door.....most I have seen is £330 when I had a quick look in wickes on way home......they have some with frames etc for £150 with letter box, locks etc (UPVC with arch window).....will measure up for one tomorrow

flooring I worked out as 40 sqare metres for kitchen/hall/front room. £100 for flooring and £80 for proper under tiles for insulation

Windows not priced yet but this will be done later, only 1 smashed one to fix before it is valued

Decent UPVC door is 600-700 (depending how fancy/any glazing) Yeah you can get them cheaper, wicks,B&Q & on the back of the Sunday papers but it will be shit! If you want it to last pay the extra if your going to flog the house quick get the £150 one

Flooring sounds cheap. Dont get thin stuff mate it warps too easy, think iirc 7mm thick min is acceptable!

Windows will depend on size/type/ammount & materials but id budget 500 per window.

Only problem with laminate is that you effectively end up with whats called a floating floor. The edges are flat down but you can feel a slight bounce in the centre of the room.

Agree on the door price as i've just had a new front door, normal price was £700 fitted but through a mate £450 . The reason why they are so expensive is due to the lock, handles, letter box, door handle, peep thing etc.
As for windows I paid £2100 for 7 windows, but once again thats through a mate.

I have had laminate at home for about 6 years. We have about 80% of the rooms with it in and have absolutly no problems with it. It has been installed properly and isnt the cheap stuff tho

this house is a cheap one to live in for a year then rent out

all this work needs to make it livable first so martgage lenders are happy (see other thread)

yes good front doors cost anything up to 1200 quid

its like french doors - cheap for 200 but better ones cost up to a grand

You are better spending the extra on windows and doors as they make a house

example of my front door
