As some people might know I have just started renting a place. It's in a terrace of 4 houses and there is an alleyway for access to mine and my neighbours back gardens. It's completely overgrown and so I have started to clear it all.
The bloke on the end house has got pissy about this as apparently he has let it overgrow as there were kids coming through the bushes and walking in front of his car at night . As far as I'm concerned it's got nothing to do with him as he has the end house so has direct access to his back garden anyway.
Just wondered what other peoples thoughts were. Obviouly I dont want to go pissing people off after 3 weeks of living there but I need access to my back garden (I don't really like leaving my motorbike out the front on the road).
I'll put a diagram up when photobucket comes back up
Cheers
Joe

Sorry about the crappy paint skills but you get the idea!
The house with the star is mine and the line is the alleyway

if he doesnt share the passage with you, then it's got nothing to do with him
does he use it to go out the front though?

No the passage only has access to the 2 middle houses. He has a seperate bit of path with a gate to go into his back garden

Nobody as far as I can tell. They are all growing out from bushes along a public path and the council have said its not their responsibility

Excellent. I will now attend at your home in Wavell Close, Yate, Bristol go down this overgrown passage way where no one can see me and steal your motor bike.
Thanks for making it easy mate and giving me the plan.
You should be more careful about what you put a public board

Good for you. TBH though you wont need to go down the overgrown passage bacause the bike is parked out the front of the house. How do you plan on getting past the locks on the wheels, the alarm and the immobiliser though?

If the bushes have grown then there could not have been many kids running in and out

surly you can make an agreement to put a gate in place to deter kids, your bike would be a tad safer and then everyone would be happy

To be hoest i can sympathise with the guy as i have a similar alley running down side of my house, if you actually owned the house then its tough crap for him imo, but as your only renting maybe not as much say, but on the other hand you are paying to rent the house and the access is your right of way to the property so really you do have the right, just depends if the guy is actually just being anal or if there really has been kids there...probably smoking gear etc..
