Currently got a 1.6 engine with several modifications but iv got a 1.4 ecu, i want it remapping so should i get a 1.6 ecu and then remap or is there no point, should i just get the 1.4 ecu remapped??? Any help would be appreciated

Im sure ive heard that the 1.4 16v ECU runs a slightly different map to the 1.6 16v ECU alkthough it will run the car.
Id go with a 1.6 ECU mate.

ye definately wrong map, it runs but not what it should be! But i mean do i buy a 1.6 ecu to remap or just remap the 1.4 ecu i have???

I run a X16XE on a X14XE ECU with a Superchip for the X14XE and runs fine
Of course the map is for the 1.4 but if you are going to mod the engine just save for another map or aftermarket ECU, no need to change standard ECU

i ran a 140bhp 1.6 16v off a remapped 1.4 ecu and loom
