Once ive heard from the insurance i'l be looking to buy a new motor
Budget will be around £6k maybe a bit more
Car history in correct order from 1st car to last car...

Corsa 1.2 LS
Corsa 1.4 SRi
Corsa 1.6 GSi
Impreza WRX Turbo
Astra G 2.0 SRi
Audi S3 quattro

At 20 years old i dont think i could top the S3 performance wise, so i know il probably be looking at a down-grade
Job change recently means il only be doing 20miles a day
dont really want to go above insurance group 16 and not too heavy on fuel
25+mpg

Any ideas?

been looking at..
Clio 182
Astra GSi turbo (bit more money i know)
Golf gttdi
Ek9 Type R

What you guys reckon??

Astra gsi turbo, or sri turbo.

Sri turbo has the fact that theres hardly any about, and although its 8-9hp less than the gsi turbo it is actually the slightest bit quicker due to the sri interior.

What about a MK3 gsi astra? Get a good one for 3k, and i love them. Think they are group 16

Clio 182.

You are going to be taking a backward step in build quality with any of those cars

So you think the S3 is quicker than the scooby?

For 6K i'd get a nice rebuilt STI.

With the gsi interior being leather there is a 45kg difference between the 2 cars.

Well i felt that 8-9hp would make up for 45kg, but i dont no? Its only like 0.1 of a second to 60 quicker where i read it.

well on real road situtions, an sri-t doesnt keep up with my gsi turbo

personal expierience is all i have to go by,

why they'd make a faster model slower is unbeknown to be

All down to driver i'm afraid mate. Both cars are pretty much exactly the same bar a couple of BHP on the mapping of the GSI.

You must just be a better driver
