Ok guys, want to pick your brains.

Past week or so my car has got considerably louder and sounds deeper. Its began to pop alot more in the exhaust and fpit the occasional flame.

Put £20 fuel in it monday morning, went to work and back monday and tuesday and its empty. That 44 miles to £20.

My thought was overfueling but why would it just suddenly happen? The same with it decided to run richer, why all of a sudden? Had the diiagnostic computer on it earlier and it shows no faults!

My 1.4 Si Corsa has worse mpg than a Skyline!

HELP!

Cheers!

Jay!

Also, cannot see any leaks. Left cardboard under it last night and it was bone dry this morning. No smell of fuel either!

What form of diagnostics did you have done? I would assume that it would be an electronic fault on the engine.

Do you have an induction kit or anything? What is the state of your lambda sensor? Do you know where Help Zone is?

Its got a mushroom air filter thats been fitted well over a year. Lambda sensor looked ok although its going to be checked tomorrow.

I would have posted in Help Zone but seeing as i have to run the car daily, the more responses asap, the better.

Cant afford to be spending £100 a week on fuel to run a corsa to work and back

if it overfuelling that bad you can nearly guarantee lambda sensor and cat damage but its likely they are effect rather than cause. Need to see why its overfuelling. 8 or 16v? probably start looking for air leaks and get it on a decent diagnostic machine and see what the fuel trims are!
