Does anyone have a fitting guide for the x16xe throttle bodies or any pictures of them fitted without covers on.
Main thing i'm interested in is where pipes/vacuums go.
On the dbilas i have
2 large pipes on the plenum but looks like one of these is blanked
on the actual tbs there are 2 large pipes at the bottom linked together into 1
there are 4 little ones (currently all looped together)
and 1 medium sized one coming off the manifold just in front of the egr valve.
From the engine i have
brake servo
large breather from cam cover
little breather from cam cover
vacuum from fpr
vacuum from charcoal
vacuum for tps
Presumably the two large ones brake servo and large breather go one to the plenum one to below the tbs does it matter which way round i am assuming brake servo should be engine side of the tbs?
throttle position sensor to the one in front of the egr valve?
little breather just blanked off?
2 other vacuums fpr and charcoal linked together and too the little ones? Or are the 4 little ones liked to balance the tbs?
ICV appears not to be used what should i do to the wiring so as not to put eml on?
How do i do away with egr and charcoal canister without again flashing eml on?
And lastly what do i use to reposition the alternator?
The engine they are being fitted to is an x16xel in a mk3 astra, want to get it running right before i take the engine out and drop it in a nova!
Many thanks Ainsley

BRake servo and map has to be piped AFTER the throttle plates, for vacuum.
You have to make a plate to drop the alternator mount.
The icv should still get used, i think dbilas originally supply some form of adaptor that lets the icv be piped into the bodies, so it lets air bypass the plates.

the large hole close to the egr on the manifold (should have a thread on it i think) that goes to the brake servo.
large hole in the middle of the manifold goes to a big water pipe (cant remember where the water pipe originally connects to)
the small hoses on the tb's that are all connected up with T pieces go to the fpr vacuum.
one of the large breather on the plenum goes to the large breather coming off the cam cover, the other that is blanked off goes to the idle control valve ( this should be attached to a little black metal block that should have come with the tb's)
in the 2nd picture down, the lil black hose that is just above where the egr goes, connect this with a T piece, to the fat hoses which are shown on the bottom of the tb's also in the 2nd pic, on the other end of the T piece, i think it connects to the bottom of the coolent tank but not quite sure. id have to look in my engine bay at sum point.
thats all i can remember atm.

fuju on the 2nd picture down just below the left most barrel there is a plug in a threaded hole i assume thats the one for the brake servo.
Is the one that you can see folded over in pic 3 on the far right for a water pipe then?
Do you have any pictures of yours fitted or a quide that came with yours?

just had a look in my engine bay and from what i can tell, it looks like the hose (in pic 3 folded over) also goes to the icv. you're tb's did come with that little black metal block thing that you connect the icv to didnt it?
ive only got one picture with it fitted but you cant make out where anything goes to really. mine did come with fitting instructions (no pictures or anything though) i havent got a scanner though and ive kinda misplaced them

on the dbilas inlet chamber, leave it blocked off as it is. you only use one port (its suppost to be for the rocker breather return)
on the inlet manifold, the one on the right is for the vacum servo pipe
the two on the throttle bodies are for the idle control valve feed
and the four on the throttle bodies are for checking vacum, either block them off or link them all together and use them for something!
you should have a load of pipes, one is for the IAC system, and one if for the EGR return. You should have a IAC block to plug your IAC valve into
we lowered the alternator too, im pretty sure you have too.
anything else?

Where does the map one go?
How did you lower the alternator?
Charcoal canistor pipe?
EGR return?
Do you have any fitted pictures?
Thanks Ainsley

iv got a lowering bracket
didnt wire in the carbon canister! just pluged the switch in

ok so i teed the 4 little ones together and teed in the map and fpr pipes.
I removed the egr valve and blanked the holes off, no eml on so thats all good.
blocked the little cam breather off, the larger one is going to a catch tank.
Found a threaded union for the brake servo hose.
Cut up the original throottle body and have made a kind of bracket to hold the idle control valve and plumbed it into the big pipes at the nbottom (as seen on pic 2) at the moment the other end is to atmosphere but once i have finished it will go into the dbilas chamber.
Anyway it runs sweet, idles fine, and no eml so all is good.
So alternator dave you say you have never had to lower yours so there must be different std mounts!
Have the ones you have done been non pas ie 1400's? I am wondering if that non pas mount is lower any ideas?

I think i'll need to alter the lower one aswell as to get the top of the alternator far enough away to clear it is catching the track rod and thats in the astra so will be even less room in the nova?

Make up a lowered mount, from some steel plate.
4 holes, two to bolt to the block, 2 to lower the alternator mount.
