my friend got the result of his court case today 84 in 50 on a dual carridgeway which he pleaded guilty in the post to but we are both very confused.

the court have sent back both parts of his driving licence and a fine thing of £120. on his counterpart it says 6 points but there is no mention of his licence being revoked or even a ban?

can someone please clear this up please.

thanks

Similar happened to my mate- they sent him his license back and the DVLA revoked it several days later. I htink it just takes the system a while.

Annoying thing for him was that he had had his bike license for 5 years and car for 20 months; but accumulated points (2 offences) and had his license revoked! - irrelevant of the fact he had actually held it for longer on the bike license which he los tas well!

DVLA enforce the revocation; the court issues the points in this case - they haven't issued a ban, the court have issued points which have lead to a revocation of the license by the DVLA

84 in a 50?

For one, 84 is over the speed limit of any road in this country and then, it was in a 50.

like the motorway when them 2 kids got killed though. you dont expect a kid to cross the motorway but that day they did.

how long will it take dvla to revoke the licence?

do they ask you to send the current licence back or do theysjust state that it has been revoked?

is it technically already revoked or is he ok until he recieves the next letter?

Of course I've travelled over the speed limit, everyone has. If someone said they hadn't, they're lying. But I don't do silly speeds like that. And I can guarantee I generally only speed in national limits, nothing else.
