Right what it is, i've lost my car keys  . I need to know if the x14xe came with an immobiliser key chip thingy.

if its after a P plate then yes they have emobalisers before P plate then no

I've just requested my key number from vauxhall, they've got the number now but are saying my car has an immobliser?? Anyone else have an SRi 1.4 16v with an immobiliser? Is this true or are vauxhall being thick (not the first time). Also would they need the car to programme the key?

read post above if its before P plate then it dont have an imobalizer.

i think that all X engines had an immobiliser so the X14XE will have an immobiliser.

yeah mate i think it does
i got a 1.4 16v sri and its n reg on the docs and i got a standard imobiliser and an after marketalarm
but as far as i know they have a standard imobiliser one of my mates has the same engine and his is n reg also and he has an imobiliser

got a X14XE in mine and it didnt have a imovalizer... and mines the GLS which is one of the higher spec models

Want to bet? All X-series engines have engine immobilisers. There will be a transponder around the ignition barrel and if you dare to take you're key apart there will be a tiny chip inside, about the size of a pen nib that sends a signal to the transponder and shuts down the immobiliser.

It has an immobiliser, makes no odds when the car was made if its a X14XE or a X16XE it has an immobiliser.

Thought so, when i changed the battery in my key, its got the little black immobiliser thing, and mines an M reg 1.4 SRi 16v
