Anyone from around the Bournemouth area recommend a reputable mechanic?
I need a few minor things doing,
exhaust knocking on rear axle when people in the rear (I think)
Alternator belt needs tightening or replacing as it screeches like mad
reverse light switch has gone on the gear box so needs replacing
I went to k'rip fit & they dont do the alternator belts but said they'd look at my exhaust. I dont want to know the price they'll charge me so.
love some feedback on this, im 200 miles from home without tools else I'd attempt these myself.
Thanx in advance

you need a 13mm spanner to do the alternator and exhaust. have you checked the fuses and bulbs for the reverse lights or have you just decided its the switch because someone mentioned it .

its not the bulbs, but i've not checked the fuse yet. I may go ask the neighbour if I can borrow a 13mm spanner then.

get a new reverse light switch from a scrap yard.or try cleaning yours.i think it's a 17mm you need iirc.and i'm pretty sure all vaux reverse light switches are the same.

if the exharst is knocking on the rear beam does this mean you have the car lowered? if not id say badly fitted exhaust or really crappy repro one.

not lowered so yea, either fitted badly or cheap repo. the car had a new exhaust when I bought it but don't know where the guy got it done.
Only really started having more than 2 ppl in since i moved to Uni so only really noticed these last few months.

might find that the rubber mounts are just foobared, sort out the exhaust for one as it will be easy to find the problem when you have it off the ground.
