1998 E36 car - any idea how much I could get a full running engine for???

Mates has just given up on him, hes fucked it in the back garden & bought himself a 55 Plate Type R, looking to get shot of the beemer now - im thinking winter project!?

e36 engines are pish easy to change
try breakers yards for a engine.i wouldn't expect to pay more than 4-500 quid for one

get it done colin but please do a few mods to it while you have it out these engines were restricted by bmw due to a gay german law for it wont cost much to see 220-230bhp

i'm hopefullygettin a 3 litre v8 conversion on my e30 for around £3500 with zm3 rear axle with LSD. or a 2.5 turbo conversion, next year. if i get ma loan.

They didn't make a 3 litre did they? I thought it was 4.0, 4.4, 4.6 and 4.9? The 3 litres were all straight sixes?

yes my dads is a 3 litre v8 e34 m reg,

it is quite a rare engine, might get a 4.0 or 4.4 just depends what is available at the breakers really, the company doin the conversion is supplying and fitting so all depends on them.

I see, never knew that, I always thought they were 4 litre or bigger, and the big six (M30) filled the gap between the small six and the V8.

Seems a bit strange they'd have a 3 litre V8, 3 litre small six and 3 litre big six, all at the same time
