Right, have lost the chip out of my key for my B Gsi. Its over 100quid for new chip, so could i not just get another gsi ECU and chip that matches that ecu??

Yes but you will need the chip, ECU and the pickup that goes around the barrel because all 3 have to match. try to go for one thats the same year because there are a few different types. Ive got a 1.6 ECU in the garage with all the parts but i cant remember if its for the C16XE or X16XE. What are the numbers and letters on yours?

hell thats alot for just the chip!
a chip is £10 new
do you have the security code? thats £15 from my vauxhall garage
even a old chip from the scrap yard would do as your only reprogramming it

be ok if it wasnt the best part of £20 to leeds and back in petrol!
