Happened at work. Came out of the station and my mate noticed my window was caved in. They'd smashed the rear passenger window and reached in to undo the door. Alarm would have gone off so may have run off and come back. Don't know.

Was a guy hanging around when I parked there, didn't think nothing of it. But I think the reason he broke in, I forgot to turn my sat nav off before I arrived. And I think he saw it. Annoying.

Took Sat Nav, about 40 CD's, Wallet, with £20 or so, credit card, driving licence, all my bank transaction receipts, my work tools, my CAP!?, my mates Trainers (lol), my deodorant (smelly cunt), and my mates food and donuts pmsl.

Happened outside West Kensington station, so had over an hours drive home, fuck me, bloody cold. Taped up now but got to somehow got it fixed asap. Not sure if insurance covers it, don't wanna affect NCB, so not really sure how. Anyone give me some pointers? I presume it's too hard to fit one yourself.

Exhausted now after all that, reported to Police, get a crime number tomorrow, nothing will happen though. Cancelled card, no transactions since stolen, phew. Off to bed now, still buzzing for some reason, but been awake 24 hours...good night. Or rather, shit night.

Window won't affect your NCB, claiming for the stuff inside might.

Not going to touch insurance, not worth it as my excess is £450.

Been ringing around this morning, gone from £179, then down to £115. Now just got my local garage saying if I get a window from breakers, they'll put it in for about £20. About to ring breakers to see how much.

They left in some work clothes, a Lily Allen CD (obviously has bad taste or they would have taken it ), my door keys , my stereo front (so glad all my audio is fine), and a fuck load of glass everywhere

Fruitbooter, phoned the Police straight away. I couldn't see any that were visible, but we'll see if they chase anything up. Doubtful, but at least it's logged.

Don't hate, appreciate

Ah right, well things seem to be working out ok anyway. Local garage will fit the glass if I supply. So I'm about to go get one from the breakers. Total cost = Around £30.

Shit pics really, but oh well.

My 6:30am attempt at window repair It looked good at the time...I live in a quiet area anyway, plus stripped everything out of it, so nothing to take.

Your insurance should sort the window out for nothing, or a small fee and it won't affect your NCB at all.

Nothing like this has ever happened to me. Touch wood.

On another note, was everything that was worth knicking, out of view?

Yeah completely, all tucked in the glovebox. A few people have said, "Oh you should hide things all over the car so they give up" But it's like, as if you're gonna do that, as I'll forget where I've put my own stuff!

You just don't think it'll ever happen to you I guess.

Oh wait, the tools were in view, but, they were just in 2 rucksacks behind the front seats. I guess it's enough to make you curious. Tints ftw

lol but if everything is out of view, then I think they have no reason to break in. May be it was the sat nav that he saw

The insurance is unlikely to pay out for personal belongings/glass because it wasn't a lockable glove box etc.

And your normal excess never normally applies for the windscreen. Most of the time it's £80 - no idea about other glass though.

That's what I mean, he must have seen the bright sat nav, as it was a fairly dark street too. Oh well.

It is lockable, it just wasn't locked. If I'd have locked it they'd probably just have busted the lock on the glovebox too = more damage!

Windscreen excess is £70 for me, but they said they don't cover side windows. I didn't say it had been smashed, as they'll be badgers and put down I've made a claim for theft or something
